Fishing the Upper Buffalo River
The Upper Buffalo River region is a great choice as a place to fish for bass, perch and catfish. Smallmouth bass rule the upper Buffalo River, while catfish can be found anywhere on the Buffalo River. Fishing from a canoe is a popular method, and wade fishing can also be rewarding. Wade fishing accesses near Ponca include up or downstream of the Ponca low water bridge. Please refer to the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Regulations for Flowing Waters (page 71) for detailed rules pertaining to Buffalo National River.
